Our Legal Care Program is open to anyone affected by cancer in Minnesota--regardless of diagnosis, age, gender, or county of residence-- Cancer Legal Care staff attorneys are available for consultations with individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer and have cancer-related legal questions.
Our staff attorneys are available to answer legal questions Minnesota residents and their loved ones may have regarding the various legal issues which cancer patients and survivors may encounter such as employment rights, access to public benefits, insurance issues, family law and legal planning matters, and financial and housing concerns.
This service is available to any Minnesotan in need of guidance during a vulnerable time. Additional services may be available based on income eligibility. Do not hesitate to call us at 651.917.9000 if you have questions or concerns.
If you are not a Minnesota resident, you'll find a comprehensive listing of cancer related legal services available throughout the country at the National Cancer Legal Service Network. Please feel free to browse our website for information about federal areas of law that apply to you such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and Social Security Disability Insurance, as well as some national resources providing financial assistance. You may also call for referrals to resources in your state. Although we try to keep resources on hand for assistance that is available, please understand that we are a Minnesota-based organization and may not have information available regarding your state.
There is never any charge to call us with your questions or to attend a Cancer Legal Care presentation. Some legal needs may require meeting income eligibility standards in order to receive additional legal services pro bono/free of charge.
