Cancer Legal Care is a Charity Partner for the Medtronic Twin Cities 10 Mile taking place on Sunday, October 5th. Team members are raising money for Cancer Legal Care and will help to spread the word about our work so that more Minnesotans can benefit from our services. As we get closer to Race Day, we will be introducing you to some of our team members.
 

Team Cancer Legal Care Featured Runner: Chris Frenier

1.) How long have you been running?

I’ve always run as cross-training for other sports (frisbee, skiing) but started running more frequently and for goal races in 2022.

2.) What was your first race?

The cancelled 2023 Twin Cities 10 Mile? But then, the Utepils Trail Half Marathon last year!

3.) Why did you choose to join Team Cancer Legal Care?

I was asked to join by a member of Team Cancer Legal Care and quickly said yes! Having a group to run the TC 10 Mile with, and the opportunity to pair my race and training with an important philanthropic cause was perfect. I am a health services researcher who has done work on the financial impacts of hospitalizations, and the services Cancer Legal Care provides are such an important piece of treatment and care.

4.) Do you have any fundraising tips?

I’ve always found hosting a party/event to be a great fundraising approach. People want to have a good time and will turn out for a fun event and surprise you with their generosity!

5.) Can you share a fundraising success story?

I met my Team Cancer Legal Care fundraising goal by hosting an egg sandwich cookout during Art-a-Whirl. It’s our favorite event of the year and we invited friends and coworkers to come by our backyard Sunday morning to hang out, have some breakfast, and then head out to visit studios or breweries. We ended up having 50 people attend and quickly met the goal!
