During an already fraught time in many Minnesotans’ lives, the ongoing actions of ICE are bringing devastation to the places where we live, learn, work, and heal. These actions violate the bedrock of our legal system.
Cancer Legal Care’s work and service to our clients are grounded in our belief that the law is a tool of good, and that when it is properly yielded can solve problems impacting the health and well-being of communities. As lawyers, we rely on- and have taken an oath to protect- the sanctity of law and the protections it provides to carry out our mission and the vision we have for a world that embraces justice as fundamental to health. We are witnessing an attack on basic fundamental principles of the rule of law, and we will not remain silent.
In the best of times, the legal services community across Minnesota is stretched beyond capacity. Cancer Legal Care is honored to be part of this community of lawyers and advocates who ensure the most vulnerable among us live in safety, have access to housing, food, benefits, and health care, and have the advocate in their corner we all need at one time or another in our lives. We stand in solidarity with all concerned and impacted Minnesotans.
