“There were many sleepless nights. But within a month, we got a response back from the insurance carrier that everything was forgiven. Everything! I cried when I heard the news. It was a life-changing moment. I can only imagine what my life would be like right now if that had not happened.”
– Cancer Legal Care client and board member Walt
Our donors are the reason our organization can provide free, life-changing legal help to anyone—patient, survivor, caregiver, or loved one—dealing with any cancer, anytime from the point of diagnosis onward, residing anywhere in Minnesota.
If you love the work of Cancer Legal Care and want to secure its future, consider the following visionary gifts:
Writing a bequest to Cancer Legal Care into your will. Bequests can either be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. This is something your attorney can help with very easily.
Naming Cancer Legal Care as a beneficiary on a retirement account or life insurance account. This is typically a simple process, handled through your retirement or life insurance company. For example, if your retirement account is held by Fidelity, you’d contact Fidelity directly for a beneficiary designation form. Often you can change your designations by logging in to your online account.
Making a stock donation. Cancer Legal Care works with Greenwald Wealth Management to accept donations of appreciated assets. Please feel free to reach out to Joel Greenwald, MD, CFP—952-641-7595 or email@example.com—to begin the simple process of making your donation of appreciated assets.
We always recommend talking with your lawyer, financial planner, and your family as you consider these options. Since you may need it, our Federal Tax ID is EIN 02-0736402.
If you have questions or want to explore a different kind of visionary gift, please contact Lindy Yokanovich at 651-412-8226 or Lindy@CancerLegalCare.org. Thank you so much for your dedication to this critical work.
