Hello, my name is Meghan, and I am the newest member of the Cancer Legal Care team. I am so excited to share that CLC has launched a new program to better serve Minnesotans impacted by cancer.
CLC’s Social Security Application Assistance Program is designed to assist cancer patients whose high cost of treatment and inability to work is impacting their economic security.
For many cancer patients, Social Security benefits are essential to the patient’s well-being and quality of life. These benefits help to replace income lost when a cancer patient finds themselves no longer able to work (likely at the same time they are being swamped with medical bills). But what we have heard from our clients is that the process of applying for these necessary benefits can be overwhelming, adding another layer of stress to an already challenging time. In response, the Social Security Application Assistance Program was born to provide more advocacy and support to cancer patients. As the managing attorney of this new program, it is my hope that CLC will be able to reduces barriers and stress for disabled cancer patients applying for Social Security benefits.
Cancer patients or caregivers who are looking for assistance applying for Social Security benefits can contact me at 651-917-9000, ext 702 or email@example.com. There will be no fee charged to clients eligible for this program. CLC does not collect a fee from our client’s benefits.
Want to learn more about our new program? Keep reading and please join me for a short webinar on February 2, 2023 from 12:15pm to 12:45pm. You can register here.
