At Cancer Legal Care, our donors and funders are our backbone. We cannot do the work we do to support and advocate for our clients without their support of us. And without Cancer Legal Care, Minnesotans facing cancer and their families would have no source of free, kind, and compassionate legal support. This means that without Cancer Legal Care, those who have been dealt a terrible hand would be left to face the cards on their own.
We just completed our annual Spring Into Action campaign (you may have seen a few extra emails from us!). We are incredibly grateful to those who made a gift in support of this campaign. While it was not as successful as past years, we know that we are in line with the giving trends experienced by other nonprofits. Finances are tight, people are worried, the economy has a big question mark looming overhead. We get it!
In response, we are embracing new-to-us ways to bring in the funds needed to do this vital work. One exciting endeavor is our participation as a Charity Partner for the Medtronic Twin Cities 10 Mile. 45 committed runners and Cancer Legal Care supporters will be participating in the race on Sunday, October 5th. You can join us to cheer them on, donate to one of their fundraising pages, or join the team (we still have some bibs available!). We have also made our Instagram debut (follow us! @cancerlegalcare) and are working to formalize a monthly donor program. Stay tuned this summer to learn more about the impact of joining our Community of Goodness and the benefits of starting a recurring gift.
Like many nonprofits, we face a tough road ahead. We are grateful for your support -past, present and future. Together, we will continue to provide peace of mind to Minnesotans, families, and communities affected by cancer.
