In a nutshell, what does COBRA do?
COBRA allows a ‘qualified beneficiary’ and his or her dependents, who after a ‘qualifying event’ no longer are eligible to participate in their employer’s health plan, to continue the coverage they have had, at their own cost, for a specified period of time.
